Women’s Power to Heal: Remembering Our Inner Medicine

Health is not the absence of disease. In Ayurveda, health is a continuum, a sacred unfolding that holds both vitality and disruption, steadiness and release.

This past winter, I discovered how true this is. My days remained full and structured, yet I stepped away from the restless pull of distraction and surrendered into the slower, steadier rhythm of Earth herself.

On the cusp of spring, the August moon rose like the Goddess — luminous and commanding — and threw me into bed. Not because I had failed, but because everything was working. In that surrender, Shakti released what no longer served me and reminded me that healing is not about perfection, but about listening, receiving, and trusting the wisdom alive within.

As Mother Maya writes, “it is our individual undoing and continual unfolding as we strive to awaken the heart of consciousness.”
